Homemade salad dressings are one of my favorite kitchen staples, and this Greek yogurt dressing recipe is a fun change from the standard vinaigrettes. It’s tangy, herby, and perfectly creamy—a healthy alternative to store-bought dressings packed with added sugar.
Using plain Greek yogurt as the main ingredient gives it a rich, creamy texture without relying on heavy cream or sour cream. Plus, it’s loaded with fresh ingredients like dill, mint, and oregano for that classic Mediterranean flavor. Fresh herbs might be one of my top three cooking tricks to make almost everything more tasty. Trust me, this creamy Greek yogurt salad dressing will quickly become one of your favorite things to drizzle over everything from simple salads to grilled veggies.

Ingredient Notes
Plain Greek Yogurt (1 cup): Whole-milk Greek yogurt is best for its thick, creamy texture, but you can also use plain yogurt if that’s what you have.
- Fresh Garlic (2 teaspoons): Finely chopped garlic (about 4 cloves) brings bold flavor to this creamy yogurt dressing. If you prefer a milder taste, try 1 teaspoon of garlic powder instead.
- Fresh Lemon Juice (4 tablespoons): Adds a bright, tangy flavor. Apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar can work in a pinch.
- Extra-Virgin Olive Oil (2 tablespoons): A drizzle of high-quality olive oil makes the dressing smooth and luxurious.
- Honey (1 tablespoon): Balances the acidity with a touch of sweetness. You can use maple syrup as a substitute.
- Dijon Mustard (1 teaspoon): Helps emulsify the dressing and adds depth.
- Fresh Herbs: Dill (¼ cup), mint (2 tablespoons), and oregano (1 tablespoon) create a flavor-packed trio. Substitute with dried herbs (⅓ the amount) if needed.

Tips, Tricks, and Alterations
To make this dressing even easier or better suited to your taste, try these tips:
- Pantry Hack: Always have bottled lemon juice and jarred garlic on hand for when you're out of fresh ingredients. They work well in a pinch and make this dressing even quicker to prepare!
- Add a Zing: Stir in a splash of apple cider vinegar for a tangy kick.
- Herbs: No fresh herbs? GO BUY SOME!!! really, if you are not in the habit of buying fresh herbs, start! It might be the easiest way to improve your cooking!! Ok, now that you have fresh herbs on your shopping list, you can use dried dill, mint, and oregano, but reduce the amount by a third. But, promise me from now on, you will be using the real thing!
- Store It Right: Keep your leftover dressing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Give it a good shake before using.
- Double the Recipe: This creamy salad dressing is perfect for meal prep. Double the batch to have it ready for your favorite salads all week long.
